Celebrate with Delos International this incredible new recording featuring Carol Rosenberger in this World Premiere Recording with Maestro Orbelian and the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. In addition to this extraordinary new arrangement of the beautiful Quintet into Concerto, this disc offers the listener two gems: Four Pieces for String Orchestra and the Three Idylls, all unique showcases for Bridge's masterful string compositions.
From Carol Rosenberger: The Chamber Concerto version of the Quintet for Piano and Strings stems from a performance I gave with the principals of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra at the Palaces of St. Petersburg Festival in June 1999. Constantine Orbelian, Music Director of both the MCO and the Festival, was much taken with this rarely performed work, and felt that expanding it into a concerto for piano and strings would enhance the music's expressive potential. With the blessing of the Quintet's publisher, we gave the premiere performance of the Concerto in Los Angeles, in February 2000.

DELOS OFFERS THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM OF A 'NEW STAR' (London Times)
Delos International invites you to witness the birth of a new star! Fresh from critically acclaimed appearances at Covent Garden, La Scala, Opera Bastille and Deutsche Oper, and just in time for her METROPOLITAN OPERA performances in March 2001, Delos presents the much-awaited solo debut recording by OLGA GURYAKOVA. This exciting recording, also featuring Maestro Constantine Orbelian and the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, is a musical journey through Russian opera arias and romances, with Olga bringing the dramatic passions of Tatiana and Natasha to life.
The album includes arias from operas by Tchaikovsky (Tatiana's Letter Scene and Final Scene (with baritone Andrei Baturkin), Eugene Onegin; Iolanta's Arioso, from Iolanta; and Aria of the Kuma, from The Sorceress), Prokofiev (Natasha's Arioso, from War and Peace), and Glinka (Guraslava's Aria, from Ruslan and Ludmilla). Romances include Tchaikovsky's If I Only Knew; The Day Reigns; and Tell Me in the Still of the Night; Rimsky-Korsakov's What was in the Shadows; and The Passing of the Clouds; and Rachmaninoff's Spring Waters; Lilacs; Long Ago, My Friend; and Dusk.
The heightened emotional intensity Guryakova brings to everything she sings enriches her debut album from the grandest aria to the most delicate romance. The top-to-bottom evenness of her voice allows her powerful emotional range every expressive freedom, and she is able to communicate directly to the listener the essence of an operatic character or the emotions behind a song.
