Delos Diary

Delos Insider

February will be a busy month for three Russian artists featured on Delos releases. Serge Larin, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, and Marina Domashenko will all be singing at New York's Metropolitan Opera for a total of nine performances between February 3rd and February 28th.
Serge Larin, tenor, plays the pretender Dimitri in Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov Tuesday, February 3, Friday February 6, Tuesday February 10, and Saturday evening February 14.
Dmitri Hvorostovsky, baritone, moves into the Met production of Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades on the evenings of Tuesday February 24 and Friday February 27, and then changes character Saturday night the 28th to challenge Renée Fleming as Giorgio Germont in Verdi's La Traviata.
Finally, beauteous Marina Domashenko, mezzo, sings her two final Maddelenas in Verdi's Rigoletto, Wednesday February 4 and on the Saturday matinee, February 7 (this performance will be broadcast). Later in the season, she will venture more Verdi at the Met playing Fenena in Nabucco.
If you happen to miss all of these, there are always Delos recordings available. A lot less expensive too!
